Bronze casting

So lately I've been building the equipment to outfit my foundry. I'll be using oil bonded sand (a formula called K-bond). The idea is to cast bronze pieces. It will take a while to get everything together.
This is a molding bench in progress.
A pair of lifting tongs to get the crucible out of the furnace.
A pouring shank to hold a #16 crucible, about 50 pounds of bronze.

Winter Works

Winter is always a tough time for me to work, but here are a few new works.
The top piece is painted after Matisse's L'Asie (Asia), 1946. Owned by the Kimbell Art Museum, the link to that painting is here.

some new sculpture

Here are a few new pieces. The top two are bass wood with a modified dutch black finish. The other piece is sterling silver combined with pink ivory, a rare exotic wood.
